Filling the Gap Between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Gen 1:1). The earth was not void and formless because God created it to be inhabited (Isa 45:18). On this earth lived beings who were governed and ruled by a king who was also a priest. He was a light bearer serving as a messenger from God to the people. Who was chosen and anointed by God to lead His people and to reveal and explain God to them. This was so the people could have an intimate relationship with God. He however became power drunk and sought to make himself equal to God (Eze 28:11-19, Isa 14:12-15).

Ezekiel 28:12-19 "You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. "You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you. "By the abundance of your trading, you became filled with violence within, and you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones. "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, that they might gaze at you. "You defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trading; Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you. All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, And shall be no more forever.

Isaiah 14:12-15 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.

He deceived the people and turned them against God. He even deceived a third of the angels in heaven. This made God so angry that, in His anger, He destroyed the earth. And the earth was (became) void and formless (Gen 1:2).

However, God decided not to completely destroy the earth (Job 9:4-10).

Job 9:4-8 God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered? He removes the mountains, and they do not know When He overturns them in His anger; He shakes the earth out of its place, And its pillars tremble; He commands the sun, and it does not rise; He seals off the stars; He alone spreads out the heavens, And treads on the waves of the sea

This king, Lucifer, who caused God to destroy the earth, the beings on earth and the disloyal angels, was banished and imprisoned in the deep. Hence there was darkness upon the face of the deep and the spirit of the Lord moved upon the waters.
God then began a repair and restoration of the earth (Gen 1:3-). After the earth’s repair He created Adam and Eve to have dominion and subdue the earth. They were to rule over everything the Lord had created including the devil and those banished into the deep or sea. But Adam sold his birthright to the devil thus relinquishing all his power and authority to the devil.

When the gap is filled between Genesis 1:1 and Genessis 1:2, it explains the many fossils that are discovered by scientists that predates man. Indeed, science is only discovering what is in the Bible. The earth created in Genesis 1:1 was for the preadamites who were destroyed with the earth after they had been led astray by Lucifer. The earth in Genesis 1:3 was repaired. You just have to compare the English translation of Genesis 1 to the Hebrew or Greek to understand.

Yes, the earth is older than what is reported by most bible theologians but it has always been in the bible. Science has only uncovered what has been in the bible all this time.
