What Happens When You Accept Jesus into Your Heart II

by - 08:00:00

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10 (KJV)
When you are saved, you are transported from darkness into the marvellous light of God. God is light and in Him is no darkness consequently there is no darkness in you either. Your location has been changed from darkness to light. Your spirit man is reborn and is now alive though he was initially dead in darkness. You’ve put on divinity at your rebirth.

You may ask, ‘How is this even possible?’ Well, it is. There are two kinds of lives. There are the psuche kind of life and the zoe kind of life. Everyone has the psuche kind of life. This is a life subject to satan. It is full of defeat, illness, death and any other weakness you can name. This is the life lived in darkness when one is not born again.

The zoe kind of life, on the other hand, is divine life. This life is superior to satan. It is full of power, health, blessings, victory and abundant life. This is the God kind of life. Once you accept Jesus as your Lord and personal saviour, the zoe kind of life is grafted onto the psuche.
But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17(KJV)
And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree... Romans 11:17(NKJV)
You have become grafted onto God and so you are transformed to be like Him. Let me illustrate this with an example. Usually when a tangerine is grafted onto an orange tree, it grows taking on the properties of orange although it will still have some of its original characteristics as a tangerine. When it grows one can’t differentiate between the orange and the tangerine. The orange and tangerine become so mangled that they are inseparable.

As a new creation you grow into the life of God or His nature. When you abide in His word you become more like Him and grow in your divine nature, John 15:4. And as you continue to behold Him you are transformed into the same image.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)
The new creation has the life of Christ Jesus and is superior to the devil. You are indestructible by the enemy. Sickness can’t stay in your system because you are no longer born of blood but by the spirit of God. Just as Jesus is so are you. You need to wholly accept your new identity and refuse to be your old self. Jesus Christ has delegated His authority to you as a joint heir with Him so use it. You have been set free.
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. John 8:36 (NKJV)
As a new creation yours is to accept what the Lord says concerning you. You’ve become His child born by His Spirit. You are no longer just flesh and blood but a ‘God being’. Your location and identity have been changed from the physical to the divine and supernatural. You have put on Christ.
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Galatians 3:27(NKJV)
Your new location is Mount Zion.
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, Hebrews 12:22 (NKJV)
Do you know who you are? Take the word of God and believe what He says about you for it is the truth. You cannot be defeated because you have the Life of God in you. Your spirit has been born after the order of God. If children on earth born to human parents are human then you too look exactly like your heavenly Father in the Spirit. Don’t doubt, only believe.

Who are you?

In the next post I’ll bring our discussion to a close.

Share with us who you are in Christ.
