5 Reasons Why You Must Pray in Tongues
In my post Why You Should Speak in Tongues, I looked at speaking in tongues and what Apostle Paul had to say about praying in the spirit. Today’s post will focus on giving you five reasons why you must pray or speak in tongues.
Every nation has it’s language hence in God’s kingdom there is a language that we speak which is the language of the spirit. As new creations we’ve been born after the order of God.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13(KJV)
I said, You are gods; all of you are the sons of the Most High Psalm 82:6(BBE)
You cease to be a mere human being
when you accept Jesus as your Lord and personal savior. You take on the nature
of divinity and become a spirit being. In the spirit we speak a language that is
individually given to us by the Holy Spirit. Speaking in tongues makes a very
great difference in every believer’s life. Below are five reasons why you must
speak in tongues.
1. You should speak in tongues
because Jesus said it will be a sign that follows believers.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Mark 16:17(KJV)
2. When you speak in tongues you
communicate with God and speak mysteries in the spirit realm.
3. You build up your body both
physically and spiritually when you speak in tongues. You’re also strengthened
and become sensitive to the Holy Spirit when you pray in the spirit.
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself…1Corinthians 14:4
4. Additionally, you pray in
accordance with the will of God when pray in the spirit.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27(KJV)
5. Your spirit takes over as you pray
in the language of the spirit. It also builds your faith.
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 1 Corinthians 14:14-15
But you, my loved ones, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, and making prayers in the Holy Spirit, Jude 1:20 (BBE)
Want to pray perfect prayers? Want to
pray according to the will of God? Then pray in the language of the spirit. Need
strength or inspiration? Pray in the spirit. The Apostle Paul prayed in tongues
more than everyone and the other Apostles also spoke in tongues hence you also
need to speak in tongues.
Do you pray in the language of the
spirit?
