What to Do When You Fail to Take Advantage of a Great Opportunity

by - 01:16:00

How to quickly recover when you fail to take advantage of an opportunity.
What do you do if you fail to take advantage of an opportunity? A great one at that! How do you quickly recover and move on after you miss a great opportunity? Do you just wallow in self-pity and mentally blame yourself over and over again? The good news is you can quickly recover from failure and move on.
There is a saying that goes; “If one door closes, another will open.” This may sometimes sound so cliché and untrue but patience has a way of bringing things and people into the right perspective. When you miss or lose an opportunity you may choose to focus on the “What ifs” and “If only”. However, you need to quickly let go of the "What ifs" and "If only" and focus on other areas that you can explore. Don't allow this one choice to blind you from seeing the other opportunities around you. This may not be so easy especially if the opportunity you lost was something really great and special, right?
Well, who determines which opportunity is greater or more special than the other? You might be very surprised! Have you heard of “All that glitters is not gold?” Yeah, I admit that’s also a bit cliché. I agree but there are truths in these clichés if I may say. You would be surprised what you can find in some of the opportunities that are like gold to you. The worst is that you might have found out too late. Now don't get it twisted, I’m not saying all great opportunities are not what they seem. All that I’m saying is that be careful and don’t make your decisions based on emotions and the money. Sorry, I  almost run totally off track today. Now back to my main point.
When you lose an opportunity don’t beat up yourself so much rather quickly put it behind you and move on. Strategize and look at the other opportunities that might be staring at you right in the face but you are not paying attention to. You might be surprised what you would find. There might be gold that you are missing because it’s still buried in soil or rock. All I’m saying is that there are opportunities that are golden but might not appear so from the onset.
See the best in every opportunity and don’t restrict yourself. Pick up new challenges and don’t stick to a routine because routines are boring and limiting. Try something new! Let me know how that goes! Remember if you think there are no opportunities around you, then create your own! Turn your passion into your career!

Love you loads! So until my next post, stay blessed and trust in God. Have faith!
