10 Scripture Verses on Who You Are in Christ
Do you know who you are? In this post I give you 10 scripture
verses on who you are in Christ. Knowing your identity and being totally
convinced of it as a child of God is very important especially in this age.
There are many trends and societal beliefs that would want to brand you and
categorise you, however, as a child of God you can’t be categorised. You’re
unique and special. You’re powerful and not ordinary. Here is what the bible
says about your identity;
1. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
You are a new creation in Christ Jesus, you cease to be a mere
human and put on the nature of God (divine life). Your old nature of sin is no
more! Jesus changes you from the inside so that on the outside you live a new
life.
2. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13(NKJV)
You are the child of God Almighty. You have been born anew by His
spirit that is why you are now a new creation who is superior to the human species.
You are a spirit being whose source is God Himself.
3. I said, "You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High. Psalm 82:6 (NKJV)
You are not a mere man but a child of God.
4. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21(NKJV)
You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You are
justified before God. Your debts have been paid by Jesus.
5. …Has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen Revelation 1:6. (NKJV)
Jesus has made you a king and a priest to God! You’re a king
and a priest, you aren’t ordinary!
6. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.1Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation
and His own special person! He has chosen you!
7. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 1John 4:17(NKJV)
As Jesus is so are you in this world. You are a joint heir with
Jesus Christ. Jesus has delegated His power and authority to you on earth here.
You are not ordinary!
8. And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus Ephesians 2:6(KJV)
You are seated in Christ Jesus in heavenly places. You don’t
have just an earthly location but you have a spiritual one as well. You are a
spiritual being who lives in the presence of God.
9. But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, Hebrews 12:22(NKJV)
Your location is Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem.
"The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." John 3:8 (NKJV)
You have been born by the Spirit of God and so you are
unpredictable and unstoppable just like the wind.
