What is our gospel? Is our gospel
Satan or Lucifer and his tactics? Is our gospel sin? I mean do we preach about
sin. Is our gospel pointing out what's wrong with people? What is our
gospel?
Our gospel is not preaching about the
enemy and sin. Our gospel is good news not sin or devil news. We preach Christ
crucified for the sins of the world. We preach liberty to men that have been
held captive by the enemy.
Jesus in His earthly ministry was
always surrounded by sinners and those possessed by the enemy. The self
righteous Pharisees criticized Him for it. In their understanding someone
righteous was to hung out with other righteous people. They laid several traps
for him and always voiced out their displeasure at his attitude. But the sinners
loved Him. They sat in awe and listened to Him, as they continued to listen to
Him they were changed.
They realized they were sinners and
changed because they encountered the love of God. They had encountered the
spirit of life and the word of God and repented because they saw themselves for
who they truly were.
I love the story of Jesus with the
Samaritan woman at the well. Jesus told her about her past and present without
condemning her. He didn't end there, He gave her the words of life. She left as
a disciple and she went back into town to call more people to listen to the word
of life.
Our gospel is life. Our gospel is
good news. Our gospel is "…Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one
condemned you?" …Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more" (John
8:10-11). Our gospel is redemption and justification. Our gospel is grace which
is unmerited favour. You don't deserve it but it's been imputed to you.
You see, if you preach sin all the
people are going to see is sin. If you preach the devil people are going to see
the devil consequently fear will rule over their lives. But if you preach our
gospel which is the good news of Jesus, they will see Jesus and they will
receive life. They will become recreated or born again and move from their
sin.
Jesus is the only one who saves. Our
gospel is Jesus. Our gospel is God loves you. Come as you are and be born again,
be recreated. Come and be new.
