Setting Goals

This post is a bit late in coming but better late than never, right? For most of us the books and pens come out on the first day of every new year. We plan projects and make resolutions for the year ahead. We are so enthusiastic about what the year has in stock and all the resolutions that we've written down. We pursue these resolutions at least for some weeks before forgetting them.

Though most analysts tell us that it is pointless making resolutions we can't keep, I think other wise. How else are we going to measure our successes and not so good projects if we never planned to start them in the first place? It is important to define where we're going and how we're going to get there. Doing so will help us evaluate our life. We'll get to know what works and what doesn't work. It will also help us judge our progress and push us to work harder.

In making resolutions you need a holistic approach. It's not a time to day dream but rather a time to analyse your life in relation to your vision and purpose in life. You need to assess whether you're going in the direction which you set out or not. Now, going of course might not necessarily mean that you're losing your vision but it maybe a time to explore and do things God's way.

Resolutions are to serve as a sort of guide to help you navigate the new year. You need to believe and trust that you can do what you've written down to do. At the dawn of 2015 I resolved to post on my blog once every week. It seemed an impossible quest. I started this blog in 2013 but for both 2013 and 2014 I had posted only six articles! Imagine moving from 6 articles in two years to 62 articles in one year! Impossible, right? But I did it. This wasn't even a resolution that I had written down I just made up my mind!

This year I would love to do two posts each week! All what I'm saying is that it doesn't matter how impossible your resolutions might be you can accomplish them! Though you may have  a backlog of unfinished resolutions from last year don't give up! You can do all that you've set your mind to, entrust your plans to our Lord. If you're not sure of what to do still entrust that to the Lord.

Together let's have a fruitful year! A year where we accomplish our resolutions! We can and we'll make it. Share with me some of your resolutions in the comment section. Don't keep this article share and tag a friend .
