The Three Images of You: Which One are You?
There exists three ways of defining every individual from a perspective. You have three images; the image you have of yourself, the image society has of you and the image God has of you. In this post I present these three images of a choleric.
So to others she is quite the
choleric; she is strong, intelligent, opinionated, the achiever and go getter.
If she sets her mind to it then she can and will get it done. She is fearless
and will tell you to your face what she thinks. She has so many ideas and so
much energy, what to do first?
She is activity oriented and so busy. It's either you’re on her team or you're out. She can't stand it when you dis people behind their backs and secretly, as you speak behind other people's backs she makes a mental note that you're not to be trusted! She says, "I've to be careful, who knows what you're saying behind my back?" She is bossy and naturally likes to be in charge so she isn't liked by most. This is because they feel she is domineering. But surprisingly they admire her. Some don't like her because she is too straight forward and complain about how she needs to learn to be diplomatic. Yet most times they appreciate her frankness.
To herself, she sees herself as
reasonable and just happens to have solutions. She doesn't see why she shouldn't
call a spade a spade but rather has to find other names for it. If it's A why
sugar coat it? She doesn't get all the drama! She enjoys a good laugh though
others assume she is always serious. She doesn't take herself seriously so she
doesn't get why others do. Well if there is a problem why not just solve it? She
has a compassionate heart and cries when she watches movies. Even the silliest
things make her cry! There people were assuming that she had no emotions! She is
easily hurt and because words are very important to her she takes people's words
too seriously so ends up hurt. She craves affection but people think she is OK
just as she is. She is scared sometimes and has fears and insecurities just like
everyone else. She is passionate and loves with her all being.
To God she is his baby whom he loves
above all else. He sees so much potential in her. He sees her as a priest
dwelling in heavenly places with Jesus. He sees her as righteous although she
may fault several times but once she has accepted the redemptive work of Jesus
everything is alright. He sees someone who has overcome the world. He sees
someone who is always a winner, who lives in divine health and is prosperous. He
sees a queen who exercises dominion on earth. He sees someone far more powerful
than the devil and his army. He sees his beloved. He sees a solution to the
world.
Which image would you rather accept
as the real version of you? The shallow image you have of yourself, who society
and others see you to be, or who God sees and says you are? I’ll go for God’s
version of me!
