Praying the Right Kind of Prayer
Prayer without the word of God will
only work to an extent. Prayer is very important however prayer with the word of
God is most important.
When Jesus fasted and prayed for 40
days and nights He was tempted by the enemy right after. Jesus overcame the
devil by the word.
Mt 4:3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."
4 But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'"
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,
6 and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"
7 Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.'"
8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9 And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me."
10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'"
Just as we spend so much time feeding
our bodies with the right diet so we can live healthy lives, the same must be
done for the spirit man.Your freedom and
victory are in the word of God. Build up your faith by listening to faith based
messages from the word of God. We spend much time going over nutritional facts
on food items so that we can make informed decisions as to what we feed our
bodies with. You need to do same to what kind of messages you listen to. Make
sure you’re listening to the right messages. Don’t listen to messages that put
fear in you or condemn you.
John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
Feed your spirit man.
What are you listening to?
As you listen to faith based messages
that cause you to know who you are in Christ Jesus, also endeavor to study the
word of God for yourself. Get to know the word of God. Read and study the word
and take note of scriptures that speak about your portion as a
believer.
You can write these out and stick
them on the wall or at a place that you can easily see. When you pray speak
God’s word back to Him. God is bound by His words. His words are life and
spirit. Prayer works with the word of God. Without adequate knowledge of the
word of God you will be limited in your prayer life.
Your knowledge and revelation of the
word of God will help you pray in line with God’s will. Your doubts will be
dispelled when you know the word of God. This will cause you to receive answers
to your prayers.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
