Why You Don't Need Yoga

by - 09:12:00

There are many people who do yoga. They like the meditation it offers. Yoga has become a fashion, it's done for both personal and health reasons. However we can't forget the roots of yoga that is steeped in  Hinduism and Buddhism. Hence if you're a Christian then yoga is not for you. The Lord in the Bible has shown us the kind of meditation that we need to do in order to prosper and have continuous fellowship with Him.
Joshua  1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
As believers we are supposed to meditate on the Word of God. This will ensure that we're so filled with the Word that nothing can stand against us. For inner peace all you need is the Word of God. Meditate on Jesus' finished work and love for you.

If you have issues with anxiety and deal with unexplainable fear, all you need is the Word of God.
2 Timothy  1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
God is not the originator of fear. God is a God of faith. Hence it is the enemy who uses fear as a tool to keep you in bondage so that you can't freely live your life in peace. Remember the best way to deal with fear or anxiety is to meditate on the Word of God that states who you truly are.
John  14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
For peace look to the power, God, within you. God dwells in you if you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour. The Bible says do not be anxious for anything but by prayer and thanksgiving make you requests before God. Prayerfully leave everything in God's hand.
Philippians 4:6   Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Matthew  6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?  6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?  6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?  6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?  6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Beloved be encouraged and meditate on the Word of God. Meditation is thinking on the Word of God as well as confessing it. For peace, joy and health look to the Word of God. Have a blessed day. If what makes you anxious is fear for the future let the Word of God quoted above encourage and set your mind at peace.
