Letting Go of the Pain and the Hurt

There are times that we hurt and can't just let go of the pain. We nurse our wounds alone in a corner. We try to hold on to what the person said, didn't say, what they did or didn't do.
Those who we love and give our all to
are those who hurt us more. We are shattered and taken aback by their
insensitivity and lack of understanding and trust. They expect us to honour and
be good to them but they don't reciprocate our efforts. We're right to feel hurt
but the issue is, holding on to the hurt.
Most times those who hurt us do not
go pondering and hurting over their attitude towards us. Some are even oblivious
to the fact that they've hurt us and even if they did, they might not know to
what degree they’ve hurt us. So why keep hurting yourself by replaying words and
actions that only make you angry. Let it go. If you have to scream, shout or
pray then do so but my dear let it go. Holding on to the pain will make you
bitter and bitterness will cause you to cease to be yourself and enjoy life.
Bitterness is a prison you do not want to be in. It will hold you captive until
all the joy, happiness, good, passion and desire have been sapped from your
life. If you can't let go then pray for divine enablement. Let God help you to
forgive and let go. Jesus tells us to forgive and love those who hurt and hate
us for our own good. Bitterness and hatred have never done anything or anyone
good. However love and forgiveness has changed many hard hearts and turned
situations around. Let love reign supreme in you for God is love and you have
been created like Him.

you.
