In the post 8 Reasons Why You Must Pray, I gave eight reasons why you should make prayer part of your life. In this follow-up post, I give you 5 more reasons to pray. Prayer is very important and so every believer must cultivate the habit of prayer.
1. Pray because prayer is a great act of faith.
Prayer is an expression of faith. You become a great man of faith by becoming a man or woman of prayer. Prayer shows how you don’t rely on your own strength but rely on God’s power to steer your affairs and change situations.
2. Pray because prayer makes you into a man of authority.
Authority comes from your closeness to God. The more you pray the closer you are to God. When you are close to God it means you have more authority with men and with God. Jesus waited and prayed to God for 40 days and 40 nights after that when He began His ministry people marveled at the authority with which He spoke; Matthew 7:28-29, Luke 4:14,22,31-32
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. Luke 4:14, KJV
And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. Luke 4:31-32, KJV
3. Pray because prayer makes you a man or woman of anointing.
Prayer makes you grow closer to God. It increases the anointing on your life, and the glory of God is rubbed on you. Moses spent long hours with God and when he came out his face shun so bright with the glory that the Israelites couldn’t look at his face.
