Christian Dating: A Rule
| Google Images |
A lot of young Christians who date
and even sometimes adults have asked and continue to ask about the dos and
don’ts in a godly relationship. My High School mentee asked me this question.
Though I admit I’m no expert, this is what I believe the bible says concerning
making out with your partner in a relationship.
The bible asks us to flee from
fornication. The bible also says that if you look at a woman lustfully then
you've already committed fornication. When dating or courting it is very
important to have boundaries and these in Christian relationships must include
not making out. The dating process is a time to get to know yourselves better not
a time to make out. If you're serious about this person and want to spend your
life with the person  then you should have no problem keeping God's
standards.
God is not against you making out or
even having sex because he created these but he expects you to do so in
marriage. True love can wait for sexual gratification if the person can't wait
then you've got to walk away. Making out can eventually lead to sex. Remember
when you have sex outside marriage you don't only sin against God but you sin
against yourself as well. Remember your body is so precious that God Himself
dwells in you. Sex is good and God created but only blessed in
marriage.
