A Love Tale Older Than Time II
Well, let me tell you a story except this is no ordinary story. This is not a fairy tale, but well it may be depending on the perspective from which you see it. I must say it’s no ordinary story. Oops, I know you must be impatient so I’ll get started with the story and bring my introduction to an end. So here goes…
At the beginning of time God’s
intention of creating man, a dwelling place for Himself was thwarted. The
process of creation was cut short.
Fast forward thousands, of years
later and we meet Jesus, God incarnate in man. Jesus,100% God and 100% man.
Satan trembled at His birth and hatched the perfect plan to do away with Him but
God was way ahead of him. God sent Jesus away for though it was His destiny to
die it wasn’t time yet.
So again, fast forward 30 years and Jesus begins His ministry. As fully God and fully man, He showed mankind the love of
God. He was and is love. He had true power and expressed dominion. The devil
wasn’t happy so tempted Him but failed. Then he had the most brilliant idea, to
kill Him. He didn’t obviously know that it was Jesus’ destiny to die. Jesus had
come with the ultimate purpose; to restore to man the power that man had at the
beginning and to upgrade that power.
Judas betrays Jesus
So Lucifer sent some demons to Judas
and they whispered things into his ears. Judas believed the lies. He thought the
thoughts in his mind originated from himself yet they were not his but the devil’s.
He bought the lie and believed that by betraying Jesus for 30 pieces of silver
he was going to force Jesus, His master, to fight. He thought “This will surely
force Him to fight. He is the Messiah, isn’t he? The Messiah is supposed to
liberate us, right?”
Judas regrets…
When he found out that Jesus wasn’t
going to fight, it was too late. He had betrayed the one who loved him most with
a kiss. The horror and the anguish when he realised what he had done. He asked
himself “what have I done?! what have I done?!” The anguish was just too much as
he starred in disbelieve… They tortured His
master, the one who loved him most.
But it was too late to take back all
he had done or so he thought.
Hell celebrates
The joy and celebration in hell was
deafening! At last they had cornered God and He couldn’t possibly escape death
this time! The jubilation could be heard across the galaxies and the heavens.
Lucifer thought that he had defeated God’s plan of redeeming man and so had a
holiday. He basked in his victory as for a little while the whole earth was
covered in darkness. Yes, he didn’t know it was for just a little while, he
thought it was forever.
He took the front seat as Jesus who
was God in human flesh was beaten. He clapped his hands and urged the men to
beat Jesus harder. The sight of blood, torn flesh and anguish gave the devil so
much joy.
But he didn’t know that it had been
written that He was bruised for our transgression and by His stripes we are
healed Isaiah 53:5.
The icing on the cake came when was
Jesus nailed to the cross, Satan counted the minutes and seconds waiting for His
death.
Jesus dies and goes to hell
Then Jesus said “It is finished.”
Satan could hardly believe his ears. He saw Jesus die but he hadn’t comprehended
yet that Jesus’ death was he, satan’s defeat. As the spirit of Jesus left His
body, He descended to hell and faced the devil and his angels. The devil thought
he had won but Jesus took him captive. Jesus had beaten him at his own game.
There was silence and shock as He paraded him in the spirit realm and stripped
him of all the powers that he had taken from Adam. He took away from him the
keys of death. He freed the fathers of old from paradise.
Jesus is alive!
On the third day, Jesus’ mission had
been accomplished and so He rose again. The light burst out of darkness because
darkness couldn’t comprehend it. He rose again and brought us eternal life. The
creation process had been completed and sin, death and the Satan had been
defeated.
Behold what manner of love the Father
has loved us that He should make us His children! God loves you and will
continue to love you even if you don’t want Him to, so how about just accepting
His love?
